Terms of Use

Last updated: July 2026

These terms cover use of the Blockdraft journal and the Blockbook companion app. By reading the journal or using Blockbook, you agree to the points below.

The content

Articles published on Blockdraft reflect the personal experience and opinions of the people who write them. Drafting and fitting techniques described here worked for the bodies, fabrics, and projects they were tried on — they may need adjustment for a different body, fabric, or garment style, and we describe them as starting points rather than guaranteed outcomes.

Nothing on this site is professional tailoring instruction, and following a note here doesn't guarantee a particular fit result. Use your own judgment, muslin before cutting into good fabric, and adjust methods to your own project.

Using the journal

You're welcome to read, bookmark, and link to Blockdraft's articles. You may quote short excerpts with a link back to the original note. Reproducing full articles elsewhere without permission isn't allowed — write to us first if you'd like to republish something.

The Blockbook app

Blockbook is provided as a tool for organizing your own pattern blocks and notes. It's offered "as is" — we work to keep it reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be available without interruption or free of errors. You're responsible for keeping a backup of any measurements or notes that matter to you.

You retain ownership of the block data, measurements, and notes you enter into Blockbook. We don't claim rights to that content beyond what's needed to operate the app for you.

Acceptable use

  • Don't attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, or reverse-engineer the journal or the app in a way that harms other readers or users.
  • Don't submit false or malicious data through the newsletter or app forms.
  • Don't republish Blockdraft's articles as your own work.

Limitation of liability

Blockdraft and Blockbook are provided without warranties of any kind. We aren't liable for fabric, time, or project outcomes based on information found here — drafting and fitting always involve some trial and error specific to your own body and materials.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. Continued use of the journal or Blockbook after an update means you accept the revised terms. Significant changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
